
The Bago Region People’s Defense Force has announced that a corporal from Infantry Battalion 440, based in Daik-U Township, has defected to the people’s side with weapons and ammunition. The corporal left his military outpost in Kwanseik village, Shwegyin Township, bringing with him military ammunition and hand grenades. The People’s Defense Force awarded him a reward of one million kyats for his defection.
The Bago Region People’s Defense Force has issued a statement announcing that soldiers, police officers, and Pyu Saw Htee members under the military council who defect to revolutionary forces in their respective areas with weapons and ammunition will be awarded appropriate monetary rewards. Additionally, on May 31, a police officer from Hakha, Chin State, also defected from the military council to join the people’s revolution, bringing weapons and ammunition to the Chinland Defense Force-Hakha.
The Chinland Defense Force-Hakha welcomed the defecting police officer, awarded him monetary rewards, and promised to ensure his safe passage to a secure location. The organization has further declared that they will always welcome those who wish to leave service under the military council and join the people’s side, guaranteeing to take full responsibility for their security. The Chinland Defense Force-Hakha emphasized that they will continue to provide protection for all defectors until they reach safe locations.
