Ongoing clashes between military council forces and revolutionary groups in Sagaing Region have resulted in the death of one soldier during an attack on a military convoy from Division 33 in Sagaing, as confirmed by the BLDF Anya Mine Group. The incident occurred on April 20 in the evening when revolutionary forces intercepted a military convoy consisting of 8 vehicles on the Monywa-Mandalay road near Chaung-U town. During the attack, a soldier on the second vehicle was fatally shot in the head. The military council forces numbered approximately 250 personnel, though their vehicles reportedly sustained no damage.
In a separate operation, the BIA Depayin LDF Township 3 Drone Team conducted drone strikes against military council troops stationed in Pyusawthi village, Sapaybin area of Ayartaw Township. The attack, which took place on April 12, involved the use of Fixed Wing Drones and small arms in coordination with local battalions and People’s Defense Forces. While the extent of casualties among military council forces could not be confirmed, revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely without any injuries. The operation was carried out through collaboration between various revolutionary groups including BIA Depayin, LDF forces, local Ayartaw Township core groups, PDF units, and allied forces such as Galon Min, Kyaung Yine, Ayartaw Township PDF, Rakkhagyi, Saturday Storm, Bo San Shar, Thayegyi, and Ma Thit Htaung Ta Kaung Bwar.
A representative from the BIA Depayin LDF Township 3 Drone Team disclosed that they had previously lost five valuable Fixed Wing Drones in earlier battles and are currently seeking assistance to acquire new drones for continued operations. The collaborative effort demonstrated the coordination between multiple revolutionary forces in their resistance against the military council, with various local defense forces and PDF units working together in the region. The ongoing military activities in Sagaing Region highlight the continued resistance against the military council’s forces, with revolutionary groups maintaining their offensive operations while facing resource constraints in their fight for democracy.
