
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee has reported that the military council forces conducted extensive aerial and artillery attacks on villages in Moe Township, Bago Region. On July 25, the military launched a series of artillery attacks targeting multiple villages in the township, firing 62 shells into Anyasu village, 52 shells between Yintaikkon and Naungkon villages, and 21 shells into Yelay Karen and Yelay Bamar villages.
The military continued their assault by firing 31 shells into the area between East and West Taungsu villages, 28 shells between Myayseinklay and Nohtawta villages, 32 shells into Lanywa village, 18 shells between Kakkyiseik and Donto villages, 8 shells between Karen/Bamar Myatye villages, and 22 shells into Ngathweswut village. The total number of artillery shells fired during this operation amounted to 274, according to confirmed reports.
In addition to the artillery attacks, the military conducted airstrikes using fighter aircraft, dropping two bombs between Ohnpinsu and Yintwinkon villages, two bombs on Lanywa village, and two bombs between Ngarseik and Anyasu villages, totaling six aerial bombs. On July 27, a militia member stationed at Infantry Battalion 60 shot and killed Ko Tin from Shanchaung village in a separate incident.
In Mandalay Region’s Thaungtha Township, the military also conducted an aerial attack near Yonesigy village on July 28 at approximately 11:50 PM. A helicopter from the Meiktila Air Base dropped six bombs and conducted strafing runs with machine guns in the area. According to local residents, there were no civilian casualties or significant damage reported from this attack.
