
A spokesperson from the Dawei District Combined Forces confirmed that three battles occurred with the military forces conducting operations in Yayphyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in two military casualties, six captured soldiers, and the seizure of two weapons. The clashes took place over a 14-day period from August 12 to August 25.
The military column, comprising soldiers from Infantry Battalions 403, 404, and 405 based in Yayphyu Township, began their operation by entering Kazi village on the morning of August 12. They then advanced to Uttu village, where the first engagement with resistance forces occurred. The second clash took place near Inpya village.
Following these encounters, the military divided their forces into three columns, with two advancing toward Uttu village and one toward Saophya village. When they attacked Myoshwekon village with heavy and light weapons, a third battle erupted with resistance forces. During this engagement, two military soldiers were killed, and resistance forces captured an MA-4 rifle and an MA-1 rifle, along with six military servicemen.
After suffering casualties, the military forces launched an airstrike on Myoshwekon village using a fighter jet that dropped two bombs. Additionally, a reinforcement column of approximately 120 troops arrived at the battle site. These forces proceeded to loot valuable items from residential homes in Myoshwekon village and set houses on fire. When resistance forces countered with drone attacks, the military suffered additional casualties. During this operation, the military forces also captured and killed two civilians.
