
A military checkpoint in the northern part of Myaing town in Magway Region was attacked by People’s Defense Forces (PDF) in a close-range operation, resulting in the death of two military personnel and the seizure of two weapons, according to a spokesperson from the Myaing PDF. The attack occurred at 6:30 AM on April 20th, targeting the security checkpoint stationed at the northern entrance of Myaing town.
During the attack, two soldiers who were manning the security checkpoint were killed, and the resistance forces seized one MA-1 rifle and one Carbine rifle from the deceased soldiers. Additionally, twenty-three rounds of ammunition were captured. The operation was jointly carried out by Myaing PDF in collaboration with the Anyar Coalition Forces and Point 1000 Pyoe Pyaung Group. All resistance fighters safely withdrew from the area after the successful operation.
The military in Myaing town has been forced to move only in groups due to security concerns, and the situation remains tense. Local residents have been advised to stay away from military personnel, police forces, and Pyu Saw Htee members, and to exercise caution when traveling. The attack comes as part of ongoing resistance operations against the military forces, who continue to commit acts of violence and oppression against local civilians in the area.
