
A military council captain was killed in an attack that occurred in Ywa-ngan Township, Southern Shan State. The incident took place on April 11 along the Ywa-ngan-Aungban road when members of the Danu State National Defence Army (DSNDA) carried out an offensive operation. Captain Myo Zaw Than was killed instantly during the attack.
According to reports, the incident occurred when DSNDA forces were conducting a security check at a junction along the Ywa-ngan-Aungban highway. A civilian vehicle passing through the area refused to stop at the checkpoint and attempted to flee, prompting the revolutionary forces to pursue and engage the vehicle. During the ensuing firefight, Captain Myo Zaw Than, who was traveling in the vehicle, was killed instantly.
Following the attack, revolutionary forces recovered several items from the deceased captain, including a pistol, a hand grenade, a mobile phone, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The fallen captain, Myo Zaw Than, had been serving as a high-ranking officer at the northern checkpoint of Ywa-ngan town and was known to be involved in operations against local civilians.
A spokesperson from the Danu State National Defence Army stated that they would continue their military operations until the collapse of the military dictatorship. They emphasized their commitment to fighting for the liberation of the people, describing this attack as a significant step in their struggle against the military regime. The spokesperson further added that they would persist in their efforts until they achieve satisfaction for the people they are fighting to protect.
