A military captain was among four casualties when People’s Defense Forces conducted drone strikes on military council positions at the General Administration Office and Police Station in Chaung-U, Sagaing Region. The attack was confirmed by a representative from the Peacock Drone Team – Myaung, who spoke about the operation that took place on May 21 in the afternoon.
The attack involved eight Fixed Wings Drones that dropped 12 bombs on the targets. The strikes resulted in the death of four military council personnel, including a captain, with additional injuries reported. The representative from the attacking force clarified that the strikes were conducted while the military council troops were stationed at the General Administration Office and Police Station in the town, rather than during a military column movement.
Following the drone strikes, the People’s Defense Forces successfully withdrew from the area. Although the military council forces responded with heavy artillery fire, all resistance fighters managed to retreat safely without any casualties. The operation was a coordinated effort involving multiple resistance groups including the Peacock Drone Team – Myaung, Yinmabin District Battalion 35 Unit 2-GZ-21, Yinmabin District Battalion 17 B-21, Kani PDF, NPDF Yinmabin, Myaung Drone Force, M.D.F Kyar Khin Sein, Arman Thit (Ngazun), Revolutionary Air Force (Myaung), Aung Thar Pyay Nyi Naung Local PDF (Kyaukse), Bo Sa Klay Drone Strike, Freedom Fighter Drone Force, and CHU PDF.
The Peacock Drone Team – Myaung has called for public support for their ‘Upper Burma Aerial Campaign’ to continue such drone operations. These attacks are considered crucial operations in the effort to reclaim territories under military council control and return them to civilian governance. The resistance forces emphasize that such tactical strikes are essential components of their broader strategy to challenge military council control in various regions and restore civilian authority to these areas.
