
The military set fire to Khwet Ma village in Minhla Township, Bago Region, at 7:20 AM on June 25, according to local residents. The burning occurred without any fighting, as troops deliberately entered the village to set fires. Most villagers had fled during the night, leaving only elderly residents behind in the village. The military had also fired heavy weapons at Nga Hla San village, Khwet Ma village, and San Boke village areas the previous night on June 24. Around 10 AM, they burned remaining houses in Nga Hla San village and took 14 villagers as human shields.
On June 23, the military arrested 11 civilians from Nget Pyaw Tun village and 1 person from Taung Paw Su village. The next day, they detained 10 women from Kanyin Pin San village. The whereabouts of those arrested remain unknown. Military artillery fire on June 22 severely injured Ko Yay Khe from San Boke village and destroyed homes. On June 23, artillery strikes on Ta Klay village caused severe injuries to U Aw Tar Gyi and his son Ko Phi Phoe Min from Phar Lay Kwin (North) village.
Currently, over 40 villages in Minhla Township have been affected by the military’s operations, with approximately 10,000 civilians displaced. Residents have fled from villages including Kywe Ma Kaing, Yway Kone, San Boke, Kyun Kone, Salt Creek, Khwet Ma, Nga Hla San, Nga Moe Yat, Sa Yit Myaung, Shwe Pauk Pin, Taung Lein, Kan Thone Hsint, Htauk Kyan, and Thayaw Kone. Additionally, on the evening of June 23, military forces and Pyu Saw Htee members raided Si Tun village in Yay Ngan village tract near Letpadan, looting gold, money and valuables from villagers’ homes.
