A military base in southern Inn Pin village, Pakokku Township, Magway Region, came under heavy weapon attack during a wedding ceremony, potentially resulting in casualties among soldiers and police, according to Colonel Mwe Hawk from Cobra One Pakokku Force. The attack occurred around 9 AM on May 27, when resistance forces launched three rockets at the military outpost where a police officer’s wedding ceremony was being held.
During the attack, the first rocket struck near the security outpost guarding the wedding ceremony, the second hit inside the military base, and the third landed directly in the area where the wedding ceremony was taking place. The wedding ceremony was attended by soldiers, police, and Pyu Saw Htee members. Although the military council forces responded with artillery fire, no resistance force members were injured in the operation. The coordinated attack was carried out by a joint force comprising the Pakokku Township People’s Defense Force (PDF), Borderless People’s Defense Force, Ba Nyein Guerrilla Force, and COBRA ONE Pakokku Force.
All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area after the operation without any casualties. The attack was conducted in response to the military council’s ongoing oppression and violence against local civilians in the region. People’s Defense Forces have indicated they will continue their operations against military targets as long as the military council continues its campaign of violence against civilians. The successful coordination between multiple resistance groups demonstrates the growing capabilities of anti-junta forces in the region and their ability to conduct precise operations against military targets.
