Three family members were killed and three children were injured and orphaned when the military fired artillery shells at Dawbyarku village in Demoso Township, Karenni State, according to local residents and the Free Burma Rangers. On September 11 at 10:20 PM, Infantry Battalion 102 based in Ngwe Taung fired artillery shells that hit a house where six family members were living. In the incident, 91-year-old Daw Mi Ma, 38-year-old Daw Thu Ma, and 44-year-old U Gra Ray were killed instantly, while three children aged 15, 12, and 8 years old sustained injuries.
Currently, the military is conducting operations with large forces in Demoso and Pruso townships, with daily clashes occurring. The military continues to conduct aerial reconnaissance, drone strikes, and airstrikes, forcing local civilians to flee without being able to settle in one place. While the military controls most areas including downtown Demoso Township, revolutionary forces continue to engage in guerrilla warfare. Military columns are preparing to advance from Demoso Township toward Pruso Township, but resistance forces are mounting coordinated defensive operations, resulting in daily clashes.
Local residents have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the military’s artillery attacks and are facing difficulties with food, shelter, and basic necessities. The situation is particularly concerning for the elderly and children, according to local sources. The military’s ongoing offensive operations in the area have created a humanitarian crisis, with displaced civilians unable to find stable shelter and facing severe challenges in meeting their basic needs. The resistance forces continue to defend local communities while employing guerrilla tactics against the military’s advancement in the region.
