The People’s Defense Force has reported the elimination of military-appointed administrator U Hla Naing and military collaborator Chocolate (aka) Myint Shein in Kamauk Gyi Township, Kawthaung District, Tanintharyi Region. On July 2 at 10:30 AM, PDF forces entered Chocolate’s residence in Ayechantha village, Kamauk Gyi Township, and carried out the operation. The action was taken due to his involvement in drug trafficking in collaboration with the military, gathering and reporting intelligence about revolutionary forces to the military, and oppressing local villagers. Chocolate, who resided in Shwepyithar ward in Kawthaung, had been operating a shop in Ayechantha village since 2019. Since 2022, he had been actively collaborating with military forces, engaging in drug trafficking, and providing spaces for drug use. Despite multiple warnings delivered through letters, phone calls, and personal visits from the People’s Defense Force, he continued his activities, ultimately leading to this necessary action.
Similarly, on July 2 at 11:50 AM, PDF forces eliminated military-appointed village administrator U Hla Naing in Seikphyu village, Kamauk Gyi Township. Hla Naing had previously served as a hundred-household head before assuming the role of village administrator after his predecessor’s departure, securing the position through collaboration with military forces. He had been abusing his administrative authority to oppress villagers and regularly provided intelligence about revolutionary forces to the military council. Despite numerous warnings, he persisted in these activities, leading to the PDF’s decisive action. The People’s Defense Force has emphasized that these actions were taken only after multiple attempts to reform these individuals through warnings and communications failed.
The People’s Defense Force of Kawthaung Township has issued notices regarding the increasing prevalence of WY stimulant tablets in the Kawthaung and Kamauk Gyi Township areas, which are particularly harmful to the youth who represent the future of society. They have announced that strict action will be taken against anyone found selling or using these substances, whether through direct discovery or public reporting. The force has also issued clear warnings to those working within the military council’s administrative system to stand with the public and seek refuge with the people as soon as possible. They have stated that anyone who continues to work against the interests of the people will face appropriate action according to their established procedures.
