
A civilian was killed when the military conducted an unprovoked airstrike on Yonepingwet village in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, according to a representative from the Natmauk News Group. The incident occurred around 12 noon on September 6, when military aircraft bombed the village without any ongoing conflict in the area. U Zaw Htun, aged 40, was killed instantly in the bombing, while two other civilians sustained severe injuries. Several houses in the village were also damaged during the attack.
In a similar incident, the military conducted five separate airstrikes on the border area between Malun Township and Meiktila Township in Mandalay Region, as confirmed by local sources. The attacks began around 11 PM on September 3, when a military aircraft from Meiktila Air Base carried out five bombing runs, dropping a total of nine bombs on the area. While no casualties were reported in these attacks, local residents were forced to flee to safer locations to avoid the bombardment.
According to local residents, the military has been deliberately targeting civilian areas with airstrikes even in the absence of any active conflict. Due to these daily air attacks, civilians have been forced to relocate to safer areas during nighttime, with particular concern for the safety of children and elderly residents. The continuous threat of aerial bombardment has created a climate of fear and uncertainty among the local population, who must regularly seek shelter to protect themselves from these unprovoked attacks.
