The ‘Yaung Ni Live in Maryland’ concert featuring singers Lin Lin and Chit Thu Wei, held on April 12 in Maryland, United States, has raised $130,000 according to event organizers. The funds will be primarily allocated to three revolutionary sectors: support for families affected by the revolution, education initiatives, and human rights activities. Lin Lin provided detailed explanations during the concert about how the funds would be distributed, particularly emphasizing support for families of fallen comrades, civil servants who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), activists’ families, and families of political prisoners.
The concert organizers have outlined specific plans for fund allocation, including rehabilitation support for revolutionary families, educational expenses to be distributed under the guidance of ground leaders, and support for human rights movements across highland and lowland regions. Additionally, they have already sent over 120 million Myanmar Kyats from initial ticket sales to support earthquake victims in Myanmar. The concert featured various traditional Myanmar instruments, including the patala, and included performances not only by Lin Lin and Chit Thu Wei but also their two daughters who joined to strengthen the show.
During the conclusion of the concert, Lin Lin announced from the stage that they would continue their revolutionary duties until those fighting on the ground and the public can return home safely. The event marks their first revolutionary concert in America, and they have already announced plans for a second concert to be held in Boston. It’s worth noting that their recent RHYTHM concert, which featured Lin Lin, Chit Thu Wei, Daung, and Daniel Saw, raised $167,520 (approximately 7,000 million Myanmar Kyats), with 100% of the proceeds being used for revolutionary causes, as documented on the RHYTHM concert Facebook Page.
