A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (PRA – Magway Supporting Team) has confirmed the capture of a lance corporal along with weapons from the Nat Yay Kan Mountain Tower Station in Ngape Township, Magway Region. The captured soldier was identified as Lance Corporal Shwe Oo from the military council forces, who was apprehended while on duty at the Nat Yay Kan Mountain Tower Station on March 5. Lance Corporal Shwe Oo was captured while attempting to flee from the tower station outpost, and he has been in detention for approximately five months, according to officials.
During the capture, an MA-1 rifle was seized from Lance Corporal Shwe Oo, who was identified as a member of Military Operations Command 14. Local sources report that military council soldiers are abandoning their posts due to attacks from People’s Defense Forces, with some surrendering and others fleeing into hiding. The People’s Defense Forces continue to launch offensive operations against military council outposts in the region, and they have assured that military council soldiers who voluntarily surrender will have their safety guaranteed.
