
The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defense Force (PDF) joint forces have successfully captured the military council’s Thayarnyunt camp in Thandaunggyi Township, Karen State, following battles from March 7 to 8, according to an official announcement from the Karen National Union (KNU). During the operation, more than 10 military council troops were killed, while over 20 others fled from the camp.
The battle began at 1:00 PM on March 7 and concluded with the final capture of the Thayarnyunt camp at 7:30 AM on March 8, as confirmed by Commander Bo Tin Oo from the People’s Defense Force Operations Area 2. Following the successful capture, the resistance forces burned down the military council’s camp and seized a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.
Currently, KNLA and PDF joint forces are continuing their operations to pursue the remaining military council troops who fled from the camp. This victory represents a significant achievement for local civilians and contributes to the ongoing effort to liberate more territories from military council control.
