He stressed the importance of maintaining this perspective in their hearts and minds as they continue their resistance efforts.
Over the past four years, the KNDF has endured aerial bombardments, artillery attacks, and military operations, engaging in both defensive and offensive operations against the military forces. The Deputy Chief of Staff particularly emphasized that their ability to continue fighting has been possible due to the unwavering support of the civilian population. He acknowledged the numerous hardships faced by both the KNDF members and civilians, expressing deep gratitude to all brothers and sisters in arms who have persevered through various difficulties, poverty, and sacrifices during their four-year journey. The Deputy Chief of Staff specifically highlighted the crucial role of public support, stating that none of their achievements would have been possible without the backing of the civilian population.
Mawi paid special tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives in the revolutionary journey, acknowledging the impact of aerial bombardments, artillery attacks, and other military actions they have endured. He expressed particular gratitude to the civilian population who have supported the KNDF throughout these challenging times, emphasizing that their continued resistance would be impossible without public support. Looking to the future, he shared a vision of a time when they would be holding flowers instead of guns, living in a new and peaceful society. However, he stressed that to reach this goal, they must continue their unified struggle until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship, encouraging all to persist in their efforts toward achieving victory in their fight for freedom.
