
The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces have successfully captured 34 soldiers from the Myanmar military’s 77th Division, which was fleeing from Katha city in Sagaing Region. According to KIA military sources, they have been pursuing and engaging the military column throughout the territory. This military unit had been responsible for civilian persecution and fled the area due to intensifying conflicts in the region.
Meanwhile, the military council has officially notified overseas employment agencies that they will be implementing restrictions and strict screening processes for all foreign employment opportunities from Myanmar. This restriction represents another violation of citizens’ rights and will create additional hardships for those seeking employment abroad due to economic difficulties in the country.
In Boston, United States, Kim Aris, the younger son of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, has met with Myanmar families and is actively working to secure increased humanitarian assistance for war-affected civilians from Myanmar. His efforts are focused on garnering international community support for people who have been forced to flee due to the military council’s violence.
