The battle for Kan Daung police station on the Pale-Gangaw road in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, continues to intensify, with military airstrikes resulting in two civilian deaths and five serious injuries. The fighting, which began on June 2, remains ongoing as revolutionary forces launch offensive operations against military council troops stationed at the Kan Daung village police station.
Since the beginning of the confrontation, the military has been conducting daily airstrikes using Y12 aircraft, fighter jets, and helicopters. In Peitauk Kone village, three cattle were killed, while in Kyat Yin village, five out of six civilians suffered severe injuries, and an elderly woman died after being hit in the head by shrapnel. Aircraft are dropping approximately 50 bombs per mission, with fighter jets conducting continuous attacks. The military has also reinforced their position at the Pyusawthi camp in Inn Ma Htee village with seven helicopter-borne troop deployments.
On June 6, an airstrike on Mintainpin village’s high school resulted in one civilian being decapitated and caused extensive damage to the school building and nearby houses. Currently, thousands of civilians from approximately 20 villages around Kan Daung, including Thasi, Thayet Hla, Ywa Thit, Nyaung Yin, Thayet Kan, Talain Kan, Kyaung Wan Du, Aung Chan Thar, and Ko Pin, have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing conflict and continuous airstrikes. The situation continues to deteriorate as military forces persist with their aerial bombardment campaign, targeting civilian areas and forcing mass displacement of local populations.
