The Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee has conducted a campaign to raise awareness about the military council’s misuse of international aid and to call for the cessation of support to the junta. The campaign highlighted how the military council is using earthquake relief aid to conduct airstrikes against civilians, emphasizing that humanitarian assistance should not be used to harm the people. The committee stressed that international aid is being misappropriated by the military council for violent purposes rather than helping those in need.
The committee specifically called for a halt to aviation fuel supplies to the military council. They revealed that the junta is not using international assistance for public benefit but rather to launch military offensives and suppress civilians. Currently, the military council continues to conduct airstrikes and artillery attacks against civilians, resulting in ongoing casualties and injuries among innocent people. The committee emphasized that the military council has been blocking international aid from reaching disaster-affected civilians, with military personnel confiscating relief supplies for their own families and supporters.
The campaign also highlighted how the military council is preventing international humanitarian aid from reaching citizens affected by natural disasters. They detailed how the military has been seizing aid supplies and distributing them exclusively to military families and affiliates, rather than to those in genuine need. The committee urged the international community to cease providing assistance to the military council, as such aid is being weaponized against the civilian population. Through this campaign, the People’s Strike Leading Committee aims to inform the international community about the military council’s brutal actions and encourage appropriate measures to address these humanitarian concerns.
