The Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee has conducted a protest movement against the terrorist military council’s misuse of earthquake relief donations to attack civilians. During this movement, people held signs with messages such as ‘Stop Using Earthquake Relief Money to Bomb People’, ‘Earthquake Disaster Aid is Not for Killing People’, and ‘International Aid is Not for Killing People’.
The military council has been accused of withholding international earthquake relief aid from the people and instead using these resources to purchase military equipment and conduct operations against civilians. Local residents of Kalay strongly condemned this misuse of humanitarian assistance. The protesters emphasized that aid intended for earthquake victims should reach the genuine disaster-affected civilians, not the military council’s armed forces.
The demonstration aimed to draw international attention to how their humanitarian assistance is being misappropriated by the military council. Participants stressed the importance of ensuring that relief aid reaches its intended recipients – the actual disaster victims – rather than being diverted for military purposes. The protest movement also sought to highlight the military council’s pattern of exploiting humanitarian crisis resources for their campaign of violence against the civilian population.
