SAGAING DIVISION – The terrorist junta forces raided Ywathit Village in Wetlet Township, murdered a civilian and set fire to over 130 houses, according to local residents.
Around 3 p.m. on February 9, the terrorist junta soldiers from Sheinmaka Village raided Ywathit Village unprovoked, killed a civilian and torched the houses.
“The junta dogs (junta forces) from Sheinmaka torched our village for no reason when there were no battles. They also murdered a civilian,” said a resident of Ywathit Village.
Ywathit Village has around 150 houses and over 130 of them were destroyed by the junta arson. The village, located around one mile north of the junta base in Sheinmaka Village, was said to have been raided and destroyed by about 80 junta soldiers.
“The junta forces torched an unarmed village and murdered a civilian. The people lost homes, grains and rations. Because it was an unexpected raid, the people couldn’t bring anything but had to escape with just their lives,” said an official from Wetlet Bo. Kyar Gyi Team.
