
MYANMAR – Junta forces bombed and attacked Sule Kone Model Village in Kani Township, Sagaing Division using paramotors, killing a civilian and injuring another, reported the local residents.
Junta forces from the North West Command in Monywa were said to have attacked the village at 00:30 a.m. on February 7 although there was no battle taking place at the village.
“There were two bombs. One was dropped on the monastery. There were damages to the monastery and a car. The other bomb was dropped on the house of furniture makers in the north west of the village. There, a worker from Ywamon Village, Butalin Township was killed and another was injured,” reported a resident.
Sule Kone Village is a model village in Kani Township. The residents are mostly farmers and the village is in the region that is under control of the People’s Defence Force.
Similarly in Magway Division, local defence forces stated that the junta forces attacked Tun Village in Seikphyu Township, Yayyin Village in Pwintphyu Township, Kyunchaung Village in Pakokku Township, Chatkam Village in Pauk Township and an area near defense industry 21 in Seikphyu Township using paramotors.
The attacks happened on February 2, 4 and 7 and it is said that there were civilian casualties. The Magway Division People’s Defence Force also advised the people to be alert of the paramotors and to report the sightings via its messenger, the messenger of other local defence forces or air attack warning channels.
