The Interim President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, has emphasized that defeating Myanmar’s deeply-rooted military dictatorship system of over 70 years requires more than ordinary courage and effort – it demands endurance and the willingness to face hardship. Speaking at the NUG’s 9/2025 meeting, the Interim President stressed that revolutionary forces must maintain both mental and physical resilience to dismantle the military dictatorship that has been entrenched for decades.
The Interim President emphasized that the Spring Revolution is a people’s revolution, with public trust being fundamental to its success. He noted that the revolution’s success depends on the capabilities, competence, and vision of its leaders, who must prove themselves through their actions to gain public acceptance. He expressed pride in observing that the Defense Minister and other ministers are now leading alongside the people on the ground, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.
The Interim President reported significant progress in territorial control, stating that their areas of operation have expanded to the point where even three to four days of travel cannot cover the entire liberated territory. He highlighted that ground conditions have improved to the extent where enemy forces cannot penetrate their defensive positions. He further emphasized that as the NUG strengthens its alliance with ethnic armed organizations, public confidence in the revolution continues to grow. The President stressed that building practical forces on the ground is crucial for the armed revolutionary path, and this cannot be forgotten in the ongoing struggle for democracy.
