The Bamar Army has reported that one military soldier was killed and others were injured during an ambush on an armored military vehicle in Salin Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred as the military council continues to conduct intensive operations in the area using combined forces of ground troops, naval vessels, and air support. According to the Bamar Army’s statement, their Battalion 707 intercepted and attacked an armored vehicle carrying approximately 20 military personnel that was traveling from Salin town toward Sinphyukyun town on March 16 at 2:15 PM.
During the attack, one soldier was fatally shot in the head, while another sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. Several other military personnel also suffered various injuries in the engagement. The military vehicle and its occupants were reportedly part of a reinforcement mission from Salin to Sinphyukyun. The military council has been conducting extensive operations throughout Salin Township this March, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, Mi-35 helicopters, naval vessels on the river, and infantry columns.
The Bamar Army reports that revolutionary forces have been launching daily counter-attacks against these military operations, inflicting significant casualties on the military council forces. This has prompted the military to continue sending reinforcements to the area. Despite the military council’s deployment of combined arms operations involving ground, naval, and air assets, they have faced strong resistance from revolutionary forces, resulting in mounting casualties and limited operational success in the region.
