On March 16, in the afternoon, the Bamar Army intercepted and attacked an armored military vehicle traveling from Salin to Sinphyukyun town, resulting in one soldier’s death. During the attack, one soldier was fatally shot in the head, another sustained injuries to his hand, and several other soldiers were wounded in the engagement. The military vehicle was carrying approximately 20 soldiers when it was ambushed.
The military council has significantly increased its presence in Salin Township, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, Mi-35 helicopters, naval vessels in the river, and infantry units as part of their ongoing operations. Local residents are living in fear due to these military activities, with many forced to flee their homes. Revolutionary forces continue to launch daily counter-attacks against the military council’s operations. The military council’s attempts to reinforce their positions in the area have been met with strong resistance from revolutionary forces, resulting in significant casualties on the military side.
Despite the military council’s efforts to strengthen their forces in Salin Township, they continue to suffer losses from attacks by revolutionary forces. This has prompted them to seek additional reinforcements, according to statements from the Bamar Army. The ongoing conflict has severely disrupted civilian life in Salin Township, with local communities bearing the brunt of the fighting. Revolutionary forces have declared their commitment to continue their struggle until the military dictatorship is overthrown. The military council’s use of combined forces, including air, naval, and ground units, indicates an escalation in their operations, while resistance forces maintain their defensive positions and counter-offensive capabilities.
