
Intense fighting has erupted in Salin Township, Magway Region, between military council forces and revolutionary forces. On March 16, in the afternoon, the Bamar Army intercepted and attacked an armored military vehicle traveling from Salin to Sinphyukyun town, resulting in one soldier’s death. During the attack, one soldier was fatally shot in the head, another sustained injuries to his hand, and several other soldiers were wounded in the engagement. The military vehicle, carrying approximately 20 soldiers, was reportedly heading to Sinphyukyun to reinforce troops in the area.
The military council has escalated its presence in Salin Township, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, Mi-35 helicopters, naval vessels, and infantry forces as part of their ongoing operations. Local residents are living in fear due to the military movements and many have been forced to flee their homes. Revolutionary forces continue to launch daily counter-attacks against the military council’s operations. The military council’s offensive in Salin Township has included targeting civilian areas with heavy artillery, causing destruction to homes, agricultural lands, and infrastructure.
