
In Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, intense fighting has broken out as the military council launched offensive operations with three columns while conducting continuous airstrikes in the area. The clashes began on May 8 at 6:00 AM when the military council forces entered the eastern part of Myingyan Township near Bo Kone village, Kyauk Tatar village, and Shan village with three columns, leading to encounters with revolutionary forces. During these clashes, the military council conducted multiple aerial attacks to support their ground operations.
At 6:08 AM, the military council launched an airstrike using a Y-12 aircraft, dropping 14 bombs near Bo Kone village. This was followed by another airstrike at 6:26 AM, during which 8 bombs were dropped near Kyauk Tatar village. Subsequently, at 6:35 AM, they conducted another airstrike dropping 7 bombs near the area known as 70 Quarter. Due to significant casualties suffered by the military council forces during the ground fighting, they escalated their aerial attacks at around 7:00 AM, deploying a jet fighter to conduct additional bombing runs on the areas where fighting was taking place.
At 11:17 AM, the military council conducted another airstrike using a jet fighter, dropping 5 more bombs in the eastern part of Myingyan Township where the fighting was ongoing. According to reports, since the airstrikes were concentrated on the areas of active combat, there have been no civilian casualties reported so far. While there are reports of significant casualties on the military council’s side, the exact numbers cannot be confirmed at this time. As the ground fighting continues and the military council continues to suffer losses, there are warnings that they may increase their air operations. Local residents are being advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions due to the possibility of increased aerial attacks by the military council forces.
