A representative from the Yangon Army has confirmed that military council troops were likely injured in a high-powered grenade attack on the Immigration Office in South Dagon Township, Yangon. The attack occurred at 10:15 PM on August 2, when three high-powered grenades were launched at the target, resulting in effective detonations at the intended location.
Following the attack, military council forces implemented road closures and security checks in the area. The official explained that the office was targeted because they had received intelligence about ongoing training sessions related to the military council’s planned election. The operation was jointly carried out by the Yangon Army and the Western District PDF (People’s Defense Force), with all resistance fighters safely withdrawing from the area after the attack.
The spokesperson emphasized their commitment to continuing attacks against activities and individuals involved in the military council’s illegal election. They encouraged civilians to report any election-related activities they observe in their surroundings and expressed gratitude for the information already provided by the public. The official confirmed their determination to strongly oppose and attack all locations and individuals associated with the illegal election process.
