The People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Myaing has reported successful operations against military council columns in Myaing and Pauk Townships of Magway Region. Beginning May 27, a military convoy from the 101st Division based in Pakokku, consisting of over 140 military vehicles and more than 1,000 troops, advanced toward Pauk Township. Revolutionary allied forces engaged this convoy throughout Myaing and Pauk Townships, resulting in over 300 military casualties and numerous serious injuries among military council forces.
A significant development in these confrontations has been the defection of more than 100 military personnel to the resistance forces. Among these defectors are high-ranking officers, including a district administrator and a major. The revolutionary forces are facilitating safe passage home for those defectors who wish to return to their families, while those who want to fight against the military council are being organized into separate units and receiving military training. Additionally, the defectors are undergoing psychological reorientation, being instilled with pro-public values, and receiving education about democratic principles through systematic engagement programs.
The revolutionary forces are providing detailed military strategy and combat tactics training to the defectors, while also utilizing their military experience to benefit the revolutionary movement. These defectors have been organized into separate battalions and are being prepared to conduct counter-operations against military council forces in coordination with revolutionary units. The resistance forces report that these integrated operations are being carefully planned to maximize effectiveness while ensuring the safety of civilian populations in the conflict areas.
