Food supplies and household necessities have been delivered to internally displaced people (IDPs) in Longlone Township, Dawei District, through the People’s Administration Team of Longlone Township on behalf of donors. This humanitarian assistance was provided with the support of civil society organizations and donors to help local residents who have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s offensive operations in the region.
The distribution included essential food supplies, drinking water, clothing, medicine, and basic necessities for the IDPs in the Longlone area. Special assistance was also provided for children, elderly people, and women taking shelter in IDP camps. Local residents continue to flee their homes due to the military council’s artillery attacks and destruction of property. Despite ongoing security concerns and instability in the region, the People’s Administration Team and aid groups are working to ensure assistance reaches people in safe locations.
The administration team continues to accept support from donors to provide humanitarian assistance to IDPs, systematically assessing needs and distributing aid according to priority. They are also working to address the displaced population’s requirements for food, shelter, healthcare, and education to the best of their ability. The ongoing efforts focus on ensuring that essential aid reaches those most affected by the conflict, while maintaining careful coordination to avoid putting beneficiaries at risk from military council operations.
