A significant number of military council casualties were reported following an interception operation by the Swallow Column and allied forces against military council troops advancing through villages in Kyaindaw Township, Karen State. According to a representative from the Swallow Column, on June 14, a combined force of approximately 150 troops from the military council’s Division 44 and Division 55 advanced from Kyaindaw town toward Nwarkankone and Ingyi villages, equipped with heavy weapons and drones.
The resistance forces successfully intercepted and engaged the military column, resulting in more than 50 military council casualties and seven wounded. The entire military column was forced to retreat following the engagement. During the battle, the military council forces conducted continuous heavy artillery strikes, necessitating the evacuation of local civilians to safer locations. The military council’s use of airstrikes and artillery fire has raised serious concerns for the safety and security of local residents’ lives and property.
The Swallow Column has emphasized the urgent need for jamming equipment to counter the military council’s drone attacks and protect their forces. They have appealed to the public for support and assistance in acquiring this defensive equipment. The ongoing situation has highlighted the critical need for civilian protection measures as the military council continues to employ heavy weapons and aerial attacks indiscriminately in the region. The resistance forces remain committed to defending local communities while ensuring civilian safety during military operations.
