The spokesperson of the Yedashe Allied Forces has confirmed that military council troops suffered significant casualties following a series of attacks by revolutionary forces in the Yaylaykyun area of Yedashe Township, Magway Region. The attacks were launched in response to the military council’s ongoing campaign of arrests, killings, and village burnings targeting local civilians. According to the spokesperson, Comrade ZPK, the military council forces had been conducting operations in the Yaylaykyun area since February 26, systematically terrorizing local communities through arbitrary arrests, executions, and the deliberate destruction of civilian homes.
Revolutionary forces initiated their first counterattack on March 8, intercepting military council troops between Thagaung village in Yedashe Township and Panyo village in Myaing Township. A subsequent engagement occurred on March 17, when resistance fighters ambushed a military council supply column attempting to deliver provisions from Myeigyi Taung village to Shinma Mountain. This attack proved particularly effective, forcing the entire military column to retreat without completing their resupply mission. On March 24, in the evening hours, revolutionary forces launched another successful operation against approximately 40 military council troops who were conducting patrol operations in Kanoo village.
The resistance forces’ spokesperson confirmed that these engagements resulted in numerous casualties among military council troops, while revolutionary forces were able to withdraw without suffering any losses. While the exact number of military casualties is still being verified, the spokesperson emphasized that the losses on the military council’s side were substantial. The revolutionary forces have stated their commitment to continuing their defensive operations as long as the military council persists in its campaign of violence against civilian populations in the region.
