A representative from the Aung San’s Land Natmauk People’s Defense Force has confirmed the capture of a fuel tanker carrying aviation fuel for the Namhsan Air Base, along with two military council personnel, on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway. The captured fuel tanker, with vehicle number 2B-8525, was intercepted near mile marker 262 on the morning of June 8 as it was departing from the Natmauk township area onto the expressway.
The captured fuel tanker has been identified as a regular transport vehicle for the military council’s air bases, specifically carrying aviation fuel necessary for conducting airstrikes against civilians. Along with the tanker, two subordinates of Warrant Officer Min Htut were also captured, and they are currently being interrogated, according to the official. The successful operation was carried out by the Aung San’s Land Natmauk People’s Defense Force, and all members of the resistance force have safely returned to their designated secure locations.
This interception is considered significant as aviation fuel is a crucial resource for the military council’s air operations. The capture of this fuel tanker is expected to impact the military council’s ability to conduct aerial operations. The fuel tanker was found fully loaded at the time of capture, and the ongoing investigation of the detained personnel is expected to provide additional intelligence about the military council’s fuel supply operations.
