
Two separate clashes occurred near Pyisone Myaing village in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, on August 16, resulting in the death of four military personnel, including one officer, according to a spokesperson from the Fire Dragon Battalion. The first engagement began around 10:35 AM in the Swe Da Lwe area of Pyisone Myaing village, where the Fire Dragon Battalion and Tawkyikan Battalion’s drone unit engaged with military forces. During this initial clash, one military officer and one soldier were killed.
During the battle, soldiers from Infantry Battalion 20 in Nyaunglebin and the Yekyawchaung Gate checkpoint along the Nyaunglebin-Madauk road provided artillery support for the military forces, forcing the revolutionary forces to withdraw. Later, around 2 PM, a second clash erupted in the Ohbo area of Pyisone Myaing village, resulting in the death of two more military personnel. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw from this engagement without suffering any casualties.
Currently, the military has established four positions in Pyisone Myaing village with an estimated force of 70 to 100 personnel. According to the Fire Dragon Battalion spokesperson, the military forces continue to oppress local civilians, destroy homes, loot property, and conduct forced recruitment in the area. As a result, revolutionary forces have pledged to continue their operations to protect local civilians from these military actions.
