
A clash between People’s Defense Forces and the military council troops occurred on the morning of June 27 in Chaungmagyi village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in four military council troops killed and four captured alive, according to revolutionary sources. The battle took place near Chaungmagyi village along the Ayeyarwady River in northern Sagaing Township, where resistance forces also seized significant amounts of weapons and ammunition.
The seized military equipment included four G3 rifles, two MA1 rifles, totaling six weapons, along with five bulletproof helmets, seven sets of military equipment, 94 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and 170 rounds of G3 ammunition. On the same day, another battle occurred in Mingun village, where the military council troops suffered heavy casualties. In response, they burned down civilian homes in South Mingun village, according to local residents.
There was also a previous battle near Chaungmagyi village on June 24. The military council has been conducting extensive clearance operations with large forces in the area, leading to continuous fighting. Since April 2025, the military council has been launching offensive operations in Sagaing Township with multiple columns, during which they have been arresting and killing civilians, as well as burning down villages and homes. These actions are part of their ongoing campaign of violence against civilian populations in the region.
