A representative from the Danger Force – Monywa District People’s Defense Force has confirmed that four members of the military council forces were killed during ongoing resistance operations along the Monywa-Ayartaw road section in Sagaing Region. The resistance forces have been conducting daily attacks against military council troops who have been carrying out operations in the area.
The military council began operations on August 8, deploying combined forces of soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members from both Monywa and Ayartaw townships. Local resistance forces launched counterattacks on August 11, 12, 14, and 16. During these engagements, four military council personnel, including both soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members, were killed, with at least ten others sustaining injuries.
The coordinated resistance operations involved multiple groups including the Danger Force – Monywa District PDF, Monywa District Battalion 16, SRf PDF, CAF PDF, G-Z Alliance, Black Tiger Lpdf, Ayartaw Township (8) PDF, Ayartaw Township (1) PDF, Monywa District Drone Force, Ayartaw Township (8) Drone Force, and G-Z Alliance Drone Force. The fighting continues in the area, and resistance officials have indicated an urgent need for ammunition and weapons supplies to sustain their operations against the military council forces.
