
A spokesperson from the Duraka Column has confirmed that four military council soldiers were killed during an attack by revolutionary forces on the military council troops stationed at Shwegu Mountain in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region. The battle occurred around 1 PM on June 1st, with no casualties reported on the revolutionary forces’ side. Many other military council soldiers were also wounded during the engagement, according to the official.
The operation was led by the Dawei National Liberation Army (Duraka Column) with the participation of several local revolutionary groups. The joint forces included the Yebyu People’s Defense Force, Dawei People’s Liberation Force, Eden Special Force, Black Tiger Force, Bilone Guerrilla Force, and Daung Nyi Naung Column Division One. Shwegu Mountain has been identified as a key military council stronghold, with troops firmly entrenched at a monastery on the mountaintop, according to local sources.
According to a warning issued by the Duraka Column, military operations are intensifying across the country, requiring local civilians to exercise extreme caution in their daily activities. The statement particularly emphasized the need to be vigilant against military council airstrikes and to follow air defense guidelines strictly. The warning stressed that the military council frequently targets civilian areas with deliberate airstrikes, making it crucial for civilians to take extra precautions to avoid casualties.
