A spokesperson from the Monywa Youth Attack Force (MYF) has confirmed that four military council soldiers were killed during an attack on a copper-carrying military convoy and a patrol vehicle near Nat Lu Htay Pan in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. The incident occurred on the morning of February 27, when resistance forces ambushed a convoy consisting of 41 copper-carrying vehicles, 6 armored security vehicles, and 9 jammer vehicles that had departed from the Wanbao Company in Monywa Township. The People’s Defense Forces had positioned themselves near Nat Lu Htay Pan in anticipation of the convoy’s arrival.
The attacking forces engaged the military council’s convoy with small arms, resulting in the immediate death of two soldiers who were traveling on the copper-carrying vehicles. Subsequently, resistance forces launched another attack on military council troops who were conducting patrols in civilian vehicles within Monywa city, leading to the death of two more soldiers. The coordinated attacks were carried out through the joint efforts of the Barma Htee Revolution Force, Yinmarbin District No. 9 Regiment, Monywa Underground Force, and Monywa Youth Attack Force.
Following the attacks, all members of the People’s Defense Forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties or injuries, as confirmed by the resistance force spokesperson. However, the exact location where the bodies of the deceased military council soldiers were transported remains unknown, according to the same source. These attacks were reportedly aimed at disrupting the military council’s economic interests and military operations in the region. The resistance forces continue to target military council assets and personnel as part of their broader strategy to oppose the military regime’s control over the country.
