A former administrator named Aung Lwin was killed in a shooting incident in Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region, after being targeted for his role in forcibly collecting military service fees from local residents. The incident occurred on March 11 at around 8 AM near Nyataw village, where revolutionary forces conducted an operation that resulted in Aung Lwin’s immediate death after being hit by two gunshots, according to Kan Gyi Maung, the commander of the Magway Guerrilla Force.
The deceased administrator was the uncle of GAD clerk Kyaw Thu and had been identified as a key figure in enforcing the military council’s mandatory service fee collection in the area. Additionally, he was known to collaborate with the military council during census collection activities, which made him a target for revolutionary forces. The GAD clerk Kyaw Thu remains at large, and revolutionary forces have announced their intention to continue operations against similar targets. The operation was carried out through coordination between the Magway Guerrilla Force, Dragon King People’s Defense Force, and Taungdwingyi Fighter Force (LPDF).
Revolutionary forces have declared their commitment to continue fighting until the complete downfall of the military dictatorship system. They have called upon civilians to cooperate with People’s Defense Forces and warned them to avoid areas where military council troops are stationed. The resistance groups emphasized that they are targeting individuals who serve as pillars of the military council’s administrative structure and urged public servants to align themselves with the revolutionary forces as soon as possible for their safety and the success of the revolution.
