The Anyar Pit Taing Htaung Lay group has made food donations on behalf of donors to three internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Salingyi Township, where civilians have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s violence. This donation was intended to help alleviate the food security challenges faced by displaced civilians who are struggling to meet their basic needs.
Due to military council offensives, residents from villages in Salingyi Township have had to abandon their homes and seek refuge in safer areas. These displaced civilians have been forced to construct temporary shelters and camps in forest and mountainous regions for security reasons. People living in these IDP camps face significant challenges in accessing food, medicine, shelter, and other essential needs.
The Anyar Pit Taing Htaung Lay group’s donation of one meal to the three IDP camps was aimed at providing some relief from food insecurity concerns for the displaced populations. The IDPs expressed deep gratitude for the donors’ generosity and support during these challenging times. The ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region continues to highlight the urgent need for sustained support for civilians who have been displaced by the military council’s actions.
