The Anya Pistine Htaung Lay Group has made food donations on behalf of donors to internally displaced persons (IDPs) at three camps in Salingyi Township, who have been forced to flee their homes due to military council offensives. The donations were distributed across three separate IDP camps in the area. The local residents have been displaced for many days due to the military council’s airstrikes, artillery shelling, and destruction of properties through arson attacks.
The displaced people sheltering in these camps are in urgent need of food, medicine, accommodation, and other essential supplies. The Anya Pistine Htaung Lay Group, understanding the difficulties faced by these IDPs in terms of their daily survival needs, organized this food donation initiative. Special attention was given to children, elderly persons, and those who are ill within the camps during the distribution of supplies.
While humanitarian groups, donors, and volunteers are providing assistance as much as they can to those who have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s violence, there remain significant shortages and needs. The displaced civilians desperately wish to return to their homes and long for peace and justice. However, due to the ongoing violence perpetrated by the military council, it remains impossible for them to return to their places of origin at this time. The situation continues to highlight the urgent need for humanitarian assistance and support for these displaced communities who have been forced to abandon their homes and livelihoods due to the ongoing conflict.
