The Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee is organizing a flower strike to be held on June 19 in a village in Kalay. The committee has called for public participation in the strike under the slogan ‘Continue to Fight for the Liberation of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the Entire Country.’ The Kalay People’s Strike Leading Committee is intensifying its efforts to achieve the complete end of the military dictatorship and reach the goal of federal democracy.
Participants in the flower strike will conduct peaceful demonstrations and raise their voices for anti-dictatorship, democracy, human rights, and justice. They will also demand the release of political prisoners, the end of the military dictatorship, and the establishment of a federal democratic system. Despite ongoing oppression by military forces in the Kalay township, the people remain united in their continued struggle for democracy.
