
On June 19, local residents in Kani Township of Sagaing Region and Sintguu Township of Mandalay Region held flower strikes and public protests to commemorate the 78th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Protesters peacefully gathered and marched while carrying portraits of Aung San Suu Kyi and flags of the National League for Democracy party.
During the protest, participants carried placards demanding the complete end of the military dictatorship, the establishment of a federal democratic system, and the release of all political prisoners. They also displayed signs showing support for the victory of People’s Defense Forces and Ethnic Armed Organizations in the revolution. The protesters marched peacefully while holding these signs and banners expressing their demands.
Participants in the protest offered well-wishes for Aung San Suu Kyi’s health and longevity, while also calling for the release of all political prisoners who have been unjustly detained. The protest concluded peacefully, with local residents affirming their commitment to continue fighting until the revolution against the military dictatorship succeeds. The demonstrators showed their determination to persist in their struggle for democracy and freedom in Myanmar.
