In Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, revolutionary forces conducted two separate mine attacks on military council convoys, resulting in the death of five military council soldiers, according to a spokesperson from the Bagan Bogyoke Cho Group. The incidents occurred on March 16th, with the first attack killing one soldier and wounding four others, while the second attack later that day resulted in four additional military casualties. The attacks demonstrate the increasing resistance activities in the region and the growing challenges faced by the military council in maintaining control of the area.
The first attack targeted a military convoy consisting of two armored vehicles and two military trucks traveling from Bagan-Nyaung-U toward Chauk. Revolutionary forces successfully carried out the mine attack along the Bagan-Nyaung-U-Chauk road section, managing to withdraw safely without any casualties on their side. Later that evening, when military council forces conducted a patrol operation in response to the first attack, resistance forces launched a second mine attack, resulting in the death of four more military council soldiers. These coordinated attacks highlight the growing capabilities and strategic operations of resistance forces in the region.
According to Rakha, the spokesperson for the Bagan Bogyoke Cho Group, these attacks were conducted in response to increased military council movements in the area. The resistance forces maintain close surveillance of military council activities along the route between Bagan-Nyaung-U and Chauk. The region has seen a significant increase in revolutionary activities, with resistance forces gradually expanding their control while military council influence continues to decline. The successful execution of these attacks demonstrates the growing effectiveness of resistance operations and the weakening position of military council forces in the area.
