In Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, resistance forces conducted two separate attacks on military council convoys, resulting in the death of five military council soldiers, according to a spokesperson from the Bagan Byoe Choe group. The incidents occurred on March 16th, with the first attack resulting in one soldier’s death and four injuries, while the second attack later that day claimed the lives of four more military council soldiers.
The first attack targeted a military convoy consisting of two armored vehicles and two military trucks traveling from Bagan-Nyaung-U toward Chauk. The resistance forces successfully carried out the mine attack along the Bagan-Nyaung-U-Chauk road section. During this operation, one military council soldier was killed and four others were wounded, while the resistance fighters were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. Later that evening, when military council forces attempted to conduct a patrol operation in the same area, resistance forces launched a second mine attack.
The second attack resulted in the immediate death of four military council soldiers and caused significant damage to some of the vehicles in the convoy. Resistance forces in the area maintain constant surveillance of military council troop movements and operations, taking precautions to avoid civilian casualties during their operations. The resistance groups have affirmed their commitment to continuing their offensive against military council operations in the region, emphasizing their focus on military targets while ensuring civilian safety. These attacks demonstrate the ongoing resistance activities against military council forces in the Bagan-Nyaung-U area, where revolutionary forces continue to challenge the military council’s control.
