Revolutionary forces have reported that five military council soldiers were killed in attacks in Thanbyuzayat and Ye Townships of Mon State. According to the Mon State Revolution Force (MSRF), on July 29 at 7:10 AM, revolutionary allied forces ambushed a military council patrol column of approximately 40 personnel that had departed from the military-controlled Aning village police station in Thanbyuzayat Township. The engagement lasted about 20 minutes, resulting in three military council soldiers killed and two wounded. The MSRF confirmed that the military column from Aning police station was heading toward Kyaung village when the attack occurred.
Additionally, on July 30 at 11:30 AM, revolutionary allied forces launched an attack on a military council outpost near Kwankike village in northern Ye Township. The firefight lasted approximately 30 minutes, during which two military council soldiers were killed. During the battle, the military council forces fired heavy weapons approximately 30 times indiscriminately, though no civilians were reported injured in the attack. The revolutionary forces confirmed that while the military outpost near Kwankike had around 30 personnel, they were still verifying the total strength of the Kwankike military station.
These operations were jointly carried out by forces under the Mon State Federal Council Defense Department, including the Mon State Revolution Force (MSRF), Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF), and allied forces from KNLA Battalion 27 Division 1. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from both engagements without suffering any casualties. The resistance forces emphasized their continued opposition to the military council’s rule and urged the public not to participate in what they described as fraudulent elections that would only serve to extend the military dictatorship’s control. These attacks represent ongoing efforts by revolutionary forces to challenge the military council’s authority in Mon State and demonstrate the growing coordination between various resistance groups in the region.
