The Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee has reported that five civilians, including two 2-year-old children, were injured and nine houses were destroyed when the terrorist military conducted an airstrike on Hintharwe village in Letdo Township, Bago Region. The aerial attack occurred at approximately 1:22 PM on June 28th, targeting the civilian residential area.
Among those injured were Ko Chit Tun, age 22, Naw Daung Shwe, age 36, Naw Hla Ae Paw, age 2, Waso Oo, age 12, and Saw Di Thu, age 2. This deliberate aerial bombardment of a civilian populated area demonstrates another instance of the terrorist military’s war crimes against its own people. The attack has resulted in significant damage to civilian homes and infrastructure, with the injury of two young children particularly highlighting the military’s disregard for humanitarian principles.
This incident represents yet another example of the military’s ongoing campaign of violence against civilians, demonstrating their continued commission of war crimes that require immediate international attention and action. The targeting of residential areas and the resulting injuries to young children and civilians underscore the urgent need for intervention to stop these brutal attacks on Myanmar’s civilian population.
