A civilian elephant handler was killed and another person was injured when the terrorist military conducted an airstrike on Khaikam elephant camp in Tedim Township, Chin State, according to local residents. The aerial attack occurred around 6 PM on June 22nd, when military aircraft bombed the elephant camp facility. The airstrike also caused significant damage to buildings and infrastructure within the camp compound, local sources confirmed.
Meanwhile in Sagaing Region’s Kanbalu Township, military council forces and Pyu Saw Htee militia members have been burning down villages including Thyayar and Kyaungkone villages. According to representatives from the Kanbalu District Revolutionary Movement Group, the military forces entered the villages and started burning houses on the evening of June 23rd without any fighting taking place in the area. There are also unconfirmed reports of civilian arrests, though the exact numbers cannot yet be verified.
Local residents point out that these airstrikes and village burnings are part of systematic oppression against civilian populations, deliberately targeting non-combatants. The ongoing attacks have resulted in loss of lives, properties and forced many local residents to flee their homes as internally displaced persons. The military’s campaign of violence continues to cause widespread destruction and displacement across these regions, severely impacting civilian communities who have no involvement in the conflict.
