
Military council forces conducted two airstrikes using fighter jets on villages in the eastern part of Mattaya Township, Mandalay Region, according to officials from the Wetlet News Network. Around 1 PM on July 12, a fighter jet from the Meiktila Air Base carried out airstrikes on villages in eastern Mattaya Township. As of now, there is no confirmation regarding civilian casualties or deaths resulting from these airstrikes.
Additionally, in Kyaindaw Township, Karen State, a 55-year-old woman died of heart failure due to artillery fire from the military council forces, according to an announcement by the Karen National Union (KNU). Around 10 PM on July 9, soldiers from Infantry Battalion 545 based in Kyaindaw fired 120mm artillery shells, which exploded in Aung Bala Kone village. The woman died of heart failure due to extreme fear caused by the artillery attack.
Regarding the airstrikes in eastern Mattaya Township, Ko Nagalay, the head of the Wetlet News Network, detailed to Yangon Modern News that a fighter jet from Meiktila Air Base conducted two separate aerial attacks during the afternoon. He stated that they are still investigating the extent of civilian casualties and injuries resulting from these attacks.
