Villages in Amarapura and Sagaing townships affected by the March 28 earthquake are in urgent need of drinking water, food supplies, and medical assistance, according to local residents. Particularly, people from Sin Ka Village, Pan Chi Village, and Bone Bo Village are requesting assistance for basic necessities. The earthquake has caused extensive damage to houses and mosques, while damaged infrastructure has made rescue operations difficult. Currently, villagers are supporting each other as much as they can with limited resources available to them.
According to a local resident, transportation has become extremely difficult due to damaged roads, and rescue teams have not yet been able to reach the affected areas. Villages near Ratana Gu Pagoda, including Sin Ka Village, Pan Chi Village, and Bone Bo Village, urgently need clean drinking water, food, and other assistance. Most houses have become uninhabitable due to earthquake damage, forcing residents to gather and live in open fields. People are concerned about the dangers of snakes and insects during the night, while the health conditions of elderly people, pregnant women, and children have become a matter of serious concern.
In Bone Bo Village, more than 130 to nearly 200 bodies have been recovered from collapsed mosques, while bodies in one mosque remain unrecovered due to equipment limitations. The village, with a population of around 10,000, urgently needs food supplies, medicine, and drinking water. According to locals, there are cases of illness and heat exhaustion, and they need oral rehydration salts and basic medicines. As rescue teams have not yet reached the area, local residents continue to support each other with whatever resources they have available. The situation remains critical as basic infrastructure and essential services have been severely disrupted by the earthquake, leaving communities to rely on mutual assistance for survival.
